Difference between Microsoft XP Home, Professional and Media Center?

I’m replacing ancient desktop with a laptop. I have a choice among (1) Windows XP Home, (2) Windows Professional and (3) Windows Media Center. What are characteristics of each? Benefits of each.?

Daughter needs in school for first time this year. She needs word processing. Is this a word processing program? She also wants to get into digital photography. I guess the Media Center is the choice for that. Is that right? Is there one of the three that does "everything" well, such as word processing, photo, storage, internet? I’m a novice at this stuff.

Also, what type of "media bay" do I need to burn and play CDs, play movies and download school stuff from net? I’m confused with RW/DVD, etc. I could ask daughter about this, but the puter is a gift and don’t want her to know.

Money is tight, so I have to get this right on the first try. After your advice, I’m off to Best Buy or CC with my newfound knowledge.

I appreciate your feedback.

What types of businesses give gifts to clients and staff?

What types of businesses give out gifts to their clients and staff?

For example real estate agents give a gift hamper to clients when the sale is finalised.

Frankly I think they’re about the only ones. With the downturn lately nobody is getting any perks. You’ll still get something when you buy a house (we got a hanging plant) but it’s actually very minimal.

Does Jersey Shore Medical Center want me to crochet hats as a gift for newborns?

I heard how people make little baby hats for newborns and I have always wanted to do it, but do you think that Jersey Shore would even want them from me? And another question is how many inches round is a newborn head? lol

You should make several hats that are made from hypoallergenic fabric. Try introducing them to the manager at the gift shop and the head nurse of the nursery department.

To answer your second question: buy a baby doll and use it as your head prop.

I sale wholesale and retail baby luxury quality gifts at very low prices. Where can I find a seamstress?

I am looking for someone who can affordably sew skirting on baby creepers, I have some fabric, and high end quality baby onesies. I am lookiing to sale these for about $22, can anyone help me? I also speak spanish. My store is: http://www.proudtots.com

Check with your local dry-cleaning shops. A lot of them do sewing and mending work on the side, or they post business cards of seamstresses who are looking for extra money.

I help at a centre on Sat morn receive a small financial gift (less than min hr rate in total)do I need a con?

Do I need to sign a contract for helping out in a community centre on Saturday mornings? As a form of recompense for petrol etc we receive a small financial "gift" which works out less than min hr rate of pay.

What are good cheap winter gifts to make for a large amount of people?

My organization hosts an annual Christmas party, and as a holiday gift, we give them a small token of appreciation. We have volunteers come in to make 100-200 of these small gifts, but we have little budget. Last year we made cocoa cones with hot cocoa powder, marshmallows, and crushed candy canes. The year before that we made a small ornament or decoration snowflake out of wires and beads. Do you have any ideas for small cheap homemade gifts for this year?

Hey, that sounds like fun! Can I help? lol
One year I made shortbread cut into xmas shapes and rumballs and wrapped them up pretty and another year I made little ornaments out of Polymer Clay. Polymer Clay is fairly cheap but sold in blocks of colour or you could use white and paint them. There are heaps of tutorials on the net. But that may be a little involved. Maybe Glass ornaments decorated with glass paint, glue and glitter?

I think the cookie idea is great too.
You could find your favourite christmas recipe and use only the dry ingredients, place them in a glass jar (they look nice if you use a funnel and layer the different ingredients) print a label of the recipe and place it on the jar and decorate the lid. You could also add one cookie cutter per jar. They will have to add the wet ingredients, ie milk, egg etc… that way the food will not go off. It’s cheap, you don’t have to bake and worry about mess and ovens etc and they can make it themselves!

The only problem is the glass jars…maybe you could collect them throughout the year.

Maybe a small plant.. you could buy them ready made or buy the pot plants, add the soil and plant a seed. Then add care instructions. You could also do a mystery seed with care instructions but they won’t know what it is until it grows.

If all else fails there is a great site that has heaps of handmade xmas ideas:

Hope this helps and have a great party and holiday :)

What is the difference between an Australian Post business centre and a regular post shop?

What is the difference between a post office and a post business centre. Can you buy post office shop things in a business centre (like money orders, gift cards, envelopes, mobile phones, stationary, etc), or is it just a counter for business affairs.

au post normally is for the regular stuff
like mailing, etc
but for more serious seller that sell bulky, bigger, more volume such as sending computer part http://www.x5.com.au/product-26-NEW-Stepper-Gym-Home-Sports-Machine-Exercise-Good-Shape

that is for them, so you have lots of items, then go to business one.

Did anyone follow the lead from the Canadian Gifting Centre?

who are they and what do they want?
I just got a phone call from them giving me exacting details about winning one of 5 possible gifts, guaranteed.
They said I filled out some ballot at Wallmart last September, which I don’t remember. I didn’t find anything on them online except one comment that thinks it’s a scam.
Does anybody else have anything to say?
they sounded pretty convincing.
mundox

You are guaranteed to be scammed. They will send you no gift. The newspaper said that one of the 5 gifts was a $2 "camera". The others were a tv, a car, a diamond, a radio. Everyone got the camera(if they got anything at all).
They mention WalMart because they figure that everyone shops there. That was the warning that it was a scam. They contacted people who had never been to WalMart..
